Frigidaire Oven Control Board Replacement — What This Part Does

The electronic range control (ERC) is the main controller for your Frigidaire oven. It manages the display, reads your keypad inputs, controls bake and broil relays, and regulates temperature. When the board fails, the oven loses power to its display or stops responding to commands, or it may send power erratically.

Common failure modes include burned solder joints, cracked traces on the circuit board, failed capacitors, or damage from power surges. Before replacing the board, always check that the range is receiving full incoming power and that heating elements are not shorted or open. A bad element can look like a board problem.

Signs It Needs Replacing

How to Replace It

  1. Unplug the range from the wall or turn off the dedicated circuit breaker at your electrical panel.
  2. Pull the range forward from the wall so you can access the rear service area.
  3. Remove the screws securing the rear access panel or back cover and lift it off.
  4. Locate the electronic control board mounted behind the control console or on the back panel and photograph or label all wire harness connectors before removal.
  5. Disconnect each wire harness plug from the control board by pressing the release tab or pulling straight out.
  6. Remove the mounting screws holding the board to its bracket and lift the board free.
  7. If your model uses a reusable overlay or keypad fascia, carefully peel or unclip it from the old board and transfer it to the new board following the orientation shown in your installation photo.
  8. Mount the new control board to the bracket with the original screws and reconnect every wire harness plug exactly as removed.
  9. Reinstall the rear access panel, slide the range back into place, restore power, and test the display and oven functions.

The Part You Need

PartNotes
Electronic range control board (ERC)Amazon | Must match your exact model number. Find the model and serial tag inside the oven door frame or on the back panel, then order the board by that model number. Example part numbers include 316557205 and 318010102 for specific Frigidaire models.
Touchpad overlay or membrane (if not reusable)Amazon | Some Frigidaire boards come with a new overlay, others require you to transfer the old one. Check your parts diagram by model number.

When to Call a Pro

Call a pro if you are not comfortable working with 240-volt appliance wiring or if your range is hard-wired rather than plug-in. A technician will verify incoming line voltage, test the heating elements and relays to rule out load-side faults, and confirm the board is the actual failure before replacement. If your oven uses gas ignition and the control board also drives the gas valve, any work involving gas flow or valve wiring should be handled by a qualified service tech. For gas line, burner, or igniter work, or if you ever smell gas, stop and call a licensed technician.
