Frigidaire Oven F30 Error Code — What It Means
F30 means an open probe. The control is not getting a normal resistance reading from the RTD oven temperature sensor, so it has no reliable cavity temperature.
Most often the sensor itself has failed open, or a wire between the sensor and the control has broken or come loose. The oven usually will not heat correctly until the circuit is restored.
Common Causes
- Open RTD sensor The temperature probe has failed open and gives the control no resistance reading.
- Broken sensor wire A cut or broken wire between the sensor and the control opens the circuit.
- Loose harness plug The connector at the back of the range can back out and break continuity.
- Corroded connector pins Oxidized pins at the sensor plug add resistance and read as an open circuit.
- Failed electronic oven control A fault on the EOC input can report an open probe even with a good sensor.
Step-by-Step Fix
- Cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore it and see if F30 clears.
- Pull the range away from the wall and remove the rear access panel.
- Find the RTD sensor plug and unplug it from the wiring harness.
- Measure sensor resistance with a multimeter. A good probe reads about 1080 ohms at room temperature, not open.
- Inspect the harness for a broken wire and reseat the connector firmly.
- Replace the RTD temperature sensor if it reads open or far from spec.
- Replace the electronic oven control if the sensor and wiring both test good.
Parts Often Needed
| Part | Notes |
|---|---|
| Frigidaire oven temperature sensor RTD probe | Amazon | Confirm fitment by model, target near 1080 ohms at room temp. |
| Sensor wire harness | Amazon | Use if the wire between sensor and control is broken. |
| Frigidaire electronic oven control board EOC | Amazon | Order only if the sensor and harness both check out. |
When to Call a Pro
Call a technician if the sensor and wiring test fine and the code stays, since the control input may have failed. A pro can confirm the EOC before you spend on a board.
