Raymond Forklift Fault Codes - Quick Reference
Raymond forklifts (7000 and 8000 series reach trucks, 4000 series order pickers, and SASIS counterbalanced) display fault codes on the Easi-Voice or Integrated Operator System (IOS) display. Codes are read via the Raymond Service Advisor diagnostic tool.
| Code Range | System | Meaning | Quick Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100-199 | Drive | Drive motor/controller fault | Check motor and controller |
| 200-299 | Pump | Hydraulic pump fault | Check pump motor and controller |
| 300-399 | Steer | Steer system fault | Check motor and feedback |
| 400-499 | Brake | Brake system fault | Check brake coil and switches |
| 500-599 | Battery | Battery/charger fault | Charge battery, check cells |
| 600-699 | I/O | Sensor or switch fault | Check wiring and sensors |
| 700-799 | Display | Display/communication fault | Check display and harness |
| 800-899 | System | Main controller fault | Connect Service Advisor |
| 900-999 | Safety | Safety system fault | Safety-critical - call service |
| 000 | Clear | No active faults | Normal operation |
Most Common Faults
100-series - Drive Fault
Raymond 7000 series drive faults are commonly 101 (drive motor overheat), 102 (drive motor overcurrent), and 105 (encoder fault). The encoder on Raymond reach trucks is integrated into the drive motor and is a high-failure item. Check for moisture ingress around the encoder - Raymond reach trucks operate in refrigerated warehouses where condensation is a major issue.
500-series - Battery Fault
Fault 501 is the Raymond low battery protection - the truck cuts drive and lift when battery drops below the cutoff voltage. Fault 505 indicates the battery is not charging correctly. Check the battery charger output voltage and the battery connector for corrosion. Raymond’s on-truck charger option generates 5xx faults when the charger fault output activates.
600-series - I/O Fault
I/O faults on Raymond trucks cover operator presence switches, load weight sensors, and height limit switches. Fault 601 (operator presence) is very common - the seat or floor plate switch wears and generates intermittent faults. Clean and inspect the switch mechanism and connector.
900-series - Safety Fault
Safety faults on Raymond forklifts include unintended movement detection and operator detection failures. These faults latch and require a Service Advisor-connected reset or a specific key sequence. Do not bypass safety faults - they protect the operator from crush and tip-over hazards.

When to Call a Pro
Raymond’s Service Advisor tool and calibration procedures are dealer-only. Safety system faults (900-series) must be investigated and cleared by Raymond-authorized service.
