Replace the sensor if it reads more than about 2°F off target.
  6. Check the air damper assembly if your model uses one. Open the refrigerator and listen or look for the damper opening and closing during a cooling cycle. If it stays open or does not move, replace the damper.
  7. Power-cycle the refrigerator by unplugging for two minutes, then plug back in and monitor for 24 hours. If the problem persists, inspect the main control board for signs of burn marks or test compressor and fan relay outputs with a multimeter.
  8. If all settings, seals, sensors, and damper check out but the refrigerator still freezes food, inspect the evaporator for abnormal frost patterns or airflow restrictions that may indicate a sealed-system or defrost fault requiring advanced diagnosis.
