The Scotsman C0522 is a 522 lb/day cube ice machine (Prodigy series) found in restaurants, hotels, and hospitality operations. It uses the Scotsman SmartBoard controller with numeric fault codes.

C0522 Common Fixes
Codes 1, 3 (cycle too long): The C0522 is a high-production unit that requires clean condenser to stay in spec. In kitchens with grease-laden air, condenser cleaning every 2-3 months is realistic. Clean fins thoroughly and verify condenser fan motor is running.
Codes 4, 5 (harvest assist): Test the hot gas solenoid valve by monitoring suction line temperature during harvest. If suction line doesn’t warm up, the valve coil has failed. Coil resistance is typically 10-30Ω.
Code 8 (water inlet): Clean the inlet valve screen. Test solenoid coil resistance. The C0522 requires 20-80 PSI water pressure.
Code E1 (evaporator thermistor): Clean scale from thermistor tip. Test resistance: approximately 32kΩ at 32°F for standard Scotsman NTC.
