LG Dryer F0 Error Code — What It Means
F0 means the dryer cannot detect the lint filter in place. A small magnet in the filter tells a sensor the filter is seated, and without that signal the dryer stops and shows F0.
Most of the time the filter is just not pushed in fully, but a missing magnet will also trip the code.
Common Causes
- Filter not seated The lint filter is not pushed all the way down into its housing.
- Missing filter magnet The small magnet in the filter fell out during cleaning so the sensor cannot detect it.
- Wrong or damaged filter A cracked or aftermarket filter without the correct magnet does not register.
- Failed detection sensor The sensor or reed switch that reads the magnet has gone bad.
- Wiring fault A loose connector at the sensor breaks the signal to the control board.
Step-by-Step Fix
- Remove the lint filter and clear any lint from it and from the housing.
- Reseat the filter by pushing it fully down until it sits flush.
- Check for the magnet in the filter frame and confirm it is present and secure.
- Replace the filter if the magnet is gone or the frame is cracked.
- Power cycle the dryer by unplugging it for one minute, then try a cycle.
- Inspect the sensor wiring behind the filter housing if the code stays.
- Run a cycle to confirm F0 clears once the filter is detected.

When to Call a Pro
F0 is usually a quick filter or magnet fix you can do yourself. If a good filter with its magnet still triggers F0, the detection sensor or its wiring may have failed, and an appliance pro can confirm and replace that part.
