GE Microwave Roller Ring Replacement — What This Part Does

The roller ring (also called turntable support) is the circular plastic assembly that sits under the glass tray in your GE microwave. It has small wheels that roll on the microwave floor and allow the tray to rotate smoothly during cooking. This even rotation helps food cook uniformly.

The ring fails when the wheels crack, break off, or wear down from regular use and heat exposure. Food debris can also jam the wheels or warp the ring. When the support is damaged the tray won’t turn, it bounces, or it drags and makes noise during operation.

Signs It Needs Replacing

How to Replace It

  1. Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet to cut all power before any work.
  2. Open the microwave door and remove the glass turntable tray by lifting it straight up and out.
  3. Lift the old roller ring support straight up off the microwave floor and inspect the wheels for cracks, wear, or damage.
  4. Check the microwave floor cavity for food debris, grease buildup, or foreign objects and wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
  5. Verify your replacement ring matches the correct wheel size and ring diameter for your model (common GE part numbers include WB02X27104, WB06X10304, and WB06X10633).
  6. Place the new roller ring flat on the microwave floor with the wheels facing down and centered over the turntable motor hub.
  7. Set the glass tray back on top of the roller ring, seating it on the center drive coupler.
  8. Plug the microwave back in and run a short test cycle with a cup of water on the tray to confirm smooth, level rotation.
  9. Check that the tray does not wobble, pop, or make noise during the test run.
