Bosch Oven F111 Error Code - Causes & Fix

⚡ Quick Answer

F111 means the food sensor probe is faulty or not connected properly. Check the probe connection first, then replace the probe if damaged.

Bosch Oven F111 Error Code — What It Means

The F111 error code on a Bosch oven indicates a problem with the food sensor probe (also called a meat probe or roasting thermometer). This is not a general overheating fault. The control board cannot communicate with the probe, either because it is unplugged, partially seated, damaged, or the circuit itself has failed. The code typically appears when you try to use a probe-related cooking function, or if the probe jack detects an open or short circuit.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Confirm the model number and verify your Bosch oven uses a food sensor probe, then note the exact fault display to rule out a different code with similar digits.
  2. Turn off power at the breaker for 60 seconds, restore power, and check if the code clears on its own after a reset.
  3. Remove the probe from the oven jack and inspect both the plug and the oven receptacle for bent pins, cracks, grease buildup, or heat damage, then wipe both dry and clean.
  4. Reinsert the probe firmly until it seats completely in the jack, then select a probe cooking function and observe whether the code reappears.
  5. Substitute a known-good probe if you have access to one or borrow from a matching Bosch model, then retest to isolate whether the original probe is defective.
  6. Inspect the oven-side jack and harness by gently wiggling the receptacle to check for loose mounting or broken solder, and trace the wiring back toward the control board for visible damage.
  7. Replace the defective component once isolated: if the code clears with a new probe, replace the probe; if the probe tests good and the jack or board is faulty, contact Bosch service or replace the control board assembly per your model’s service manual.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
Bosch Oven Food Sensor Probe / Meat ProbeAmazon | Verify the plug type and cable length match your model before ordering.
Oven Control Board (if probe and jack test good)Amazon | Required only when the probe input circuit has failed; confirm the board part number from your model tag.

When to Call a Pro

Call a technician if the error persists after you have cleaned and reseated the probe, tested with a known-good substitute, and completed a full power reset. If the oven-side jack is loose or the harness shows heat damage, or if you are not comfortable tracing low-voltage wiring and testing board inputs, professional diagnosis will save you from replacing the wrong part. Bosch recommends contacting their service network for persistent electronics faults that do not clear with basic troubleshooting.
