Parker Hydraulics Fault Codes - Quick Reference

Parker Hannifin hydraulic systems include servo proportional valves (D1FT, D3FT), electronic amplifier cards (PCD, IQAN), and hydraulic power units. Faults display on amplifier LEDs, IQAN displays, or Parker SSD drives.

Most Common Faults

Solenoid Overcurrent

Parker proportional valve amplifiers monitor output current to the solenoid. A dead short in the valve coil or wiring harness trips F03. Disconnect the valve plug and measure coil resistance - proportional solenoids are typically 4–30 ohms depending on model. Open or low resistance indicates coil failure.

Position Sensor (LVDT) Fault

LVDT position transducers in servo proportional valves require a stable ±15VDC excitation from the amplifier. A broken wire in the LVDT cable causes the amplifier to report F04 and go to a safe state (valve de-energized). Check the cable at the connector strain relief - that’s where 80% of breaks occur.

IQAN Filter Blocked

The IQAN controller monitors differential pressure across the hydraulic filter. When the DP exceeds the bypass setpoint, the filter is bypassing and contamination is entering the system. Replace the filter immediately and sample the oil for particle count.

High Oil Temperature

Parker HPU coolers can be air-cooled or water-cooled. Air-cooled: check fan operation and cooler cleanliness. Water-cooled: verify water supply pressure and temperature. Check reservoir oil level - a low level reduces heat dissipation significantly.
