Mazak CNC Alarm 200 Parameter Fault — Causes & Fix

⚡ Quick Answer

What Mazak CNC Alarm 200 (Parameter Fault) means, why it happens, and how to fix it step by step.

Mazak CNC Alarm 200 Parameter Fault — What It Means

Mazak Alarm 200 indicates a parameter fault — the MAZATROL control detected an invalid or out-of-range value in the machine parameters (NC parameters). Parameters define axis travel limits, servo gain, feedrate limits, and many other critical machine behaviors. Alarm 200 fires when a parameter value is outside the acceptable range for that parameter, preventing safe machine operation.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix {#fix}

  1. Note the full alarm code and parameter number — Mazak’s alarm display should indicate which specific parameter is faulted. Note the parameter number before doing anything else.
  2. Check the parameter value — Navigate to the NC parameter display on the MAZATROL and find the parameter number flagged by Alarm 200. Compare its current value against the machine’s parameter backup sheet.
  3. Restore from backup — If you have a parameter backup file (stored on USB or the Mazak’s hard drive), restore the parameter file to return all values to their correct state.
  4. Manually correct the parameter — If no backup exists, correct only the flagged parameter to its specification from the machine documentation.
  5. Power cycle and verify — After correcting the parameter, cycle power and confirm Alarm 200 is cleared.

When to Call a Pro

If parameters are corrupted and no backup exists, Mazak service can retrieve the original parameter file for your machine serial number. Contact Mazak Technical Support before attempting parameter reconstruction.
