Haas Next Generation Control Alarm Codes Guide

⚡ Quick Answer

Haas Next Generation Control (NGC) alarm codes: what each means and how to fix it.

Haas Next Generation Control (NGC) Alarm Codes

The Haas Next Generation Control (NGC) was introduced in 2016 on VF, ST, EC, and other Haas machines. It uses the same alarm numbering as the Classic Haas Control (CL) but features a touchscreen interface with improved alarm diagnostics.

NGC vs Classic Control Alarm Differences

The alarm codes themselves are identical between NGC and Classic Haas. What’s different with NGC:

Most Common NGC Alarm Categories

Alarm RangeCategoryNote
100-105Servo/E-StopSame as Classic — E-stop, servo off
106-115SpindleSpindle drive, orientation, speed
116-119Spindle faultsSpeed, overtemp, communication
120-130ATC alarmsTool changer arm, chain, door
131-145Servo motorAxis servo thermal, feedback
200-299Servo alarmsAdvanced servo fault codes

NGC-Specific Features for Alarm Diagnosis

Service log access: On NGC, go to Settings > Service > Alarm History. This shows timestamped alarm history — extremely useful for intermittent problems.

Servo data monitoring: Settings > Diagnostics > Servo shows real-time motor current, temperature, and following error. Useful for catching intermittent faults.

Part counter alarms: NGC tracks parts count and can generate alarms when maintenance intervals are due — these are informational alarms, not faults.

Common NGC Alarm Fixes

Alarm fixes are the same as Classic Haas:

When to Call a Pro
