Electrolux Washer E11 Error Code - Causes & Fix

3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

E11 means the washer isn't filling with water in time. Check water supply valves are open, hoses aren't kinked, and inlet valve works.

Difficulty Intermediate (DIY)
Est. time 15-60 min
Tools Multimeter , nut driver, screwdrivers

Electrolux Washer E11 Error Code — What It Means

Error code E11 on an Electrolux front-load washer indicates a long fill time fault. The control board is not detecting the machine filling with water during the wash phase within the expected time window. The washer may lock for up to 6 minutes when this fault occurs, and unplugging then replugging the unit will restart that lockout timer.

This error does not always mean a part has failed. Most commonly it points to water supply issues, installation problems, or restricted flow conditions that prevent the washer from filling fast enough. The control times out because water is not entering the drum at the rate or volume required to complete the fill cycle.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Verify installation and line connections by confirming the hot supply is connected to the hot inlet and cold to cold, especially if the washer was recently installed or moved.
  2. Check both supply valves at the wall to confirm they are fully open and not restricted by debris or scale buildup.
  3. Inspect inlet hoses for kinks, crushing, blockages, cracks, or other damage that would restrict flow, and straighten or replace as needed.
  4. Confirm adequate water pressure at the supply by disconnecting a hose and checking flow into a bucket for volume and force.
  5. Observe fill behavior by starting a wash cycle and watching whether water enters slowly, stops, or does not flow at all to narrow down the restriction point.
  6. Test the water inlet valve by verifying it is being energized during the fill cycle and that water flows freely through it when energized, replacing the valve if it does not open or if flow is restricted.
  7. Clear the fault and re-test by running a normal cycle after correcting the issue to confirm the washer fills within the expected time without triggering E11 again.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
Water inlet valve assemblyAmazon | Replace if the valve does not open, flow is mechanically restricted, or solenoid coils fail to energize properly.
Inlet hosesAmazon | Replace if kinked, internally blocked, cracked, or damaged in a way that restricts water flow into the machine.

When to Call a Pro

Contact a professional service technician if you have verified that both supply valves are fully open, hoses are in good condition and properly connected, water pressure is adequate, and the washer still does not fill within the expected time. If the inlet valve tests good mechanically and electrically but the error persists, the issue may involve the control board or wiring harness that requires diagnostic tools and schematic reference. Electrolux recommends contacting service if the problem cannot be resolved after checking installation and supply conditions.
