Electrolux E10 Error Code - Causes & Fix

3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

E10 means your Electrolux washer cannot fill with water in time. Most often the inlet tap is closed or the inlet filter is clogged.

Difficulty Intermediate (DIY)
Est. time 15-60 min
Tools Multimeter , nut driver, screwdrivers

Electrolux E10 Error Code — What It Means

The E10 code on an Electrolux washing machine indicates a water fill fault. The control board is reporting that the washer did not detect sufficient water entering the drum during the fill stage, or the fill did not complete within the expected time window. This is an inlet problem, not a drain issue. The machine expects water to flow in at a certain rate and reach a target level, and something is blocking or slowing that process.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Power off the washer for at least 60 seconds, then restart and attempt a cycle to see if the error was transient and clears on its own.
  2. Check the inlet tap at the wall and confirm it is fully open, then disconnect the inlet hose and run water into a 10-liter bucket to verify it fills in about one minute (adequate supply and pressure).
  3. Inspect the inlet hose for kinks, crushing, or damage along its length, and remove and clean the fine mesh screens or filters at both the tap connection and the valve inlet to clear any sediment.
  4. Test the water inlet valve by verifying it receives the correct voltage from the control during a fill cycle (use a multimeter), and check that the valve opens freely when energized. Replace the valve if it is electrically faulty or mechanically stuck.
  5. Examine the pressure sensing system if water enters the drum but E10 still appears. Inspect the pressure sensor or switch, the small air tube running from the tub to the sensor, and all related connectors for cracks, blockage, disconnection, or corrosion.
  6. Inspect all wiring and connectors at the inlet valve, pressure sensor, and control board for loose terminals, corrosion, or physical damage, and reseat any suspect connections.
  7. Reassemble and run a test cycle to confirm the washer fills normally without retriggering the E10 code, and monitor for proper water level detection.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
Water inlet valve assemblyAmazon | Replace if the solenoid is electrically open, shorted, or does not open mechanically when energized.
Inlet hose and hose screensAmazon | Use if the original hose is damaged or the integrated filters are too clogged to clean.
Pressure switch or water level sensorAmazon | Required when the machine fills but the sensor or air tube cannot confirm the water level to the control.
Pressure tube (air hose)Amazon | Replace if the small tube between the tub sump and the pressure sensor is cracked, split, or blocked.

When to Call a Pro

Call a qualified appliance technician if you have verified that the water supply, inlet hose, and filters are all clear but the E10 code persists. A professional can safely test live voltage at the inlet valve, diagnose pressure-sensor circuit faults with specialized tools, and trace intermittent wiring issues at the control board. Also call if you are uncomfortable working with household plumbing connections, live electrical circuits, or disassembling cabinet panels to access internal components.
