Most Common Bohn Alarms and Fixes {#fix}

Alarm 1 — High Temperature

Box temp exceeded setpoint. Immediate concern for product integrity. Check evaporator fan operation, coil ice level, door seals, and condensing unit.

Alarm 2 — High Discharge Temperature

Discharge line overheating. Check condenser cleanliness, condenser fan operation, refrigerant charge, and liquid line filter-drier restriction.

Alarm 5 — Defrost Termination

Defrost didn’t terminate at the expected temperature. Check defrost termination thermostat continuity and defrost heater element. On hot gas systems, check hot gas solenoid valve operation.

Alarm 6 — Fan Motor

Fan motor overload or failure. Replace if motor is seized. Check run capacitor on single-phase motors. Verify rotation direction after replacement.

Alarm 7 — Sensor

Air temperature sensor fault. Test NTC resistance, replace if open or shorted.
