Generator error code checklist
Use this before ordering parts or booking service. Match the exact model
number, verify the simple checks, then price the likely parts.
Before you reset it
- Write down the code, runtime hours, fuel type, battery voltage, and recent maintenance date.
- Check oil level, air filter, battery terminals, fuel supply, and transfer-switch status.
- For no-start faults, inspect spark plug, ignition coil, fuel solenoid, and low-oil switch sequence.
- For voltage or frequency faults, avoid load testing until the basic service items pass.

When to stop
Stop for fuel leaks, transfer-switch faults, carbon-monoxide risk, utility interlock issues, or voltage faults under load.
